International bilingual education for all!

A better world

As a secondary school, we believe it is important that our pupils take an interest in other cultures and that together we take good care of each other and our world. We make connections between subjects and between theory and the ‘real’ world. That is why we are an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. In addition, the Maartens is an inter-confessional school which means that all faiths are welcome.

Bilingual combined classes up to and including third grade

The first three years you will be in a combined mavo/havo or havo/vwo class and follow the International Education Programme – the Middle Years Program (MYP) – in which you will also study subjects in English. You will then enter the examination programme for a vmbo-tl diploma (mavo diploma), havo diploma or vwo diploma. You can even do the International Baccalaureate® (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) entirely in English instead of the vwo diploma at the International School Groningen, also on our campus.
